Also, if you've just been looking for a way to revisit these games, hopefully this should do the trick. I know there are plenty of people out there more familiar with these games than me, so perhaps in the meantime, if someone else wants to verify that all of the versions work, or even start getting screenshots/info and such, I wanted to at least suggest it here. I will definitely try to look into these games more soon. The series consists of sub-series such as Math Rabbit, Reading Journey and Reading Development Library. I was going to try to get around to testing all of them, but I got distracted by other things. This is a list of Reader Rabbit games released since its debut in 1983. So far, I only tried installing and running the kindergarten and first grade games, both of which appeared to work fine. Here's the link that contains the preschool through second grade games: I'll go ahead and post the link since, considering that JumpStart has basically abandoned these games, this is sort of a special case when it comes to distributing them online.

To sum this up briefly, there are working copies of the games on the Internet Archive - specifically teacher editions which don't require the servers to run. Recently I was looking into the JumpStart 3D Virtual World series games, since recently these games have become fairly inaccessible due to JumpStart shutting down the servers required to run the games, meaning that even if you own a CD or have membership, you still won't be able to play them. It's actually kind of surreal that it was just *there* all along, but a very welcome kind of surreal.

Actually, it might even be possible to get the full extended versions of the other grades working, if there was way to override it automatically assigning you to second grade. The JumpStart Series features games in the edutainment genre. But after examining the game's files, I found out that the game appears to have all of the content for the other grades too - including the extended content that was previously assumed lost. The thing is, it's not normally accessible while playing, because the game automatically assumes you want to play the second grade version and assigns you to that level right from the start. It turns out that content isn't actually lost - because the "Field Trip Adventure" re-release actually contains all of the content for the preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade versions too. Since JumpStart never formally re-released the preschool-1st grade versions, this meant that the extended content for them became lost media. Then, in 2003, the full second grade version was re-released as "Field Trip Adventure" as part of the Advanced series. Previously, the perception of JumpStart Around the World was that in 2000, it was released for preschool-second grade, and there was extended content for the game that could be downloaded online for a period of time.
